About

Michael Ghee
I am a Control Systems Engineer with three years experience in aerospace and marine power industries. I graduated in 2012 with an MEng in Avionics from the University of Glasgow.

I entered industry developing engine electronic control systems for civil aero gas turbines, focusing on control system verification for low NOx emission combustion systems using lean burn technology. I subsequently entered the marine industry with the design and development of sensors which interface with electrical controls, instrumentation and protection systems.

In August 2015, I will be travelling to the Malaysian Borneo for 6 months as a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders. I will be providing engineering support for the design of a micro-hydro power generator control system. Such micro-hydro power schemes are being developed in Borneo to provide remote indigenous communities with the necessary electricity for health, education and general welfare services.

This blog will describe my adventure in the Malaysian Borneo and hopefully give an insight into Borneo life and the positive impact engineering can have on the quality of peoples lives.
