Engineers Without Borders
Engineers Without Borders UK is a charity which
inspires and supports people to respond to global challenges. By working with
partners and the education sector, Engineers Without Borders aims to use
science, technology and engineering to alleviate poverty. By placing young engineers
and technical professionals with poverty-fighting local organisations in Africa,
Asia and Latin America Engineers Without Borders is at the forefront of the
race to a more sustainable world where everyone can live well and in freedom.
Tonibung
Tonibung - TObpinal NIngkokoton koBUruon KampuNG (Friends of Village Development) are an indigenous-led non-profit group that develop sustainable energy alternatives for rural electrification, promoting native rights and entrepreneurship, around South East Asia. The organisation is based in the village of Nampasan, Penampang, in Sabah, Malaysia.
Tonibung provide electrification through the use of renewable technologies (micro-hydro, solar and hybrid systems), harnessing the states natural resources without negatively affecting the environment and while maintaining the indigenous peoples traditional values.
